The first look from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani has finally been released, introducing Ranveer Singh as Rocky and Alia Bhatt as Rani. This is Karan’s first film as a director in seven years. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai, was the last movie he helmed.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani also stars legendary actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in addition to Ranveer and Alia. Posters of Ranveer and Alia as their characters could be seen on the initial look. Ranveer’s statement clothing gave him a flamboyant appearance. Karan described Ranveer’s poster as, “An absolute ‘heartthrob’, who wears his own heart on his sleeve – meet Rocky!.”
The second poster features Alia in a glamorous avatar and traditional outfits. The caption reads, “Ladies & gentlemen, the queen is here to steal your hearts – meet Rani!”.
The movie was extensively filmed in New Delhi by Karan Johar. Around the time of shooting, a number of images from their outside shoot were leaked online, indicating the movie was going for a retro look. Meanwhile, a video of Alia filming a scene at the airport surfaced online. Early this year, the movie was finished.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be released on July 28.
